This session holds such a special place in my heart — because this little guy isn’t just another adorable baby in front of my camera… he’s my nephew, Miles. 💚

From the very first time I photographed him as a tiny newborn, to his sitter milestones, and now his big first birthday, I’ve had the absolute honor of documenting every stage of his first year. Each session has been a chapter in his story — one filled with love, laughter, and those fleeting little moments that remind you just how quickly time passes.

Watching Miles grow has been such a gift. It’s incredible how much can change in one short year — those first smiles, the way he reaches for his favorite toys, his curious little glances, and now… his big “I’m one!” grin as he digs into his cake.

For his cake smash, we kept things classic and simple — soft white tones, touches of green and gold, and the perfect little cake that was soon covered in frosting and crumbs. It was a sweet, messy, joy-filled celebration that captured everything I love about milestone sessions — real moments, genuine emotion, and the love that ties it all together.

As I look back through these images, I’m reminded once again why I do what I do — to preserve these fleeting seasons before they become memories. Miles, you are so loved.
